Darkness and Light In that churches are often an architectural representation of a spiritual quest, it is not surprising that light has a major part to play. But there is also an aspect of churches that has to do with the hidden and the dark. It is this interplay of darkness and light that I've examined in these photos. From the slow decay of Burton Dassett church, with its Knights Templar origins and scarred tombs, to the mystery of what is behind the veil in Gaudi's temple, part of the mystery of churches lies in that which is dark and hidden. |
